RIP "Buck" Bruner, one of the "good, old-timers" in Indianapolis AA passed on. 47 years sober.

86 passed away peacefully at home on October 26, 2011

He was born on March 2, 1925, in Big Clifty, Kentucky, to Omar S. Bruner, Sr. and Adah (Stuteville) Bruner. He graduated from Shortridge High School, Butler University, and the University of Michigan School of Law. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II. Upon graduation from law school, he joined his father in the O.S. Bruner Insurance Agency. He later became President of the Agency until his retirement. He was an avid supporter of Butler, honored to present two annual Bruner scholarships to business students for many years. He generously donated the "Buck and Harriet Bruner Chapel" to Fairbanks Hospital. He was proud of his affiliation with Alcoholics Anonymous for the past 47 years. He is survived by wife, Suzanne; daughter, Suzanne (Ron) Schafer; son Christopher (Cindy) Bruner; stepchildren Amy LeClare, Beth AAsen, and Charles and David Summitt; Grandsons Ryan Miller, Jeffrey Bruner, Jr., and Justin Bruner; granddaughters Rebecca Miller, Kristen, Erin, and Megan Bruner, and Angie Brown; cousin Imogene Dospil; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Harriet, sister Doris, and his son, Jeffery Bruner, Sr.
